Labral Tears

The labrum is cartilage that is present in ball and socket joints and forms a ring in the socket of the joint to allow for stability but also flexibility.

Tears in the labrum can occur with repeated overload to the area or acute trauma and are most effectively diagnosed with MRI and contrast medium injection to visualise the tear.
